In this role, you'll be essential in breaking down complex technical topics into easy-to-understand language for various audiences, such as users, developers, and the broader community. Your main task will be to develop and keep up-to-date documentation for our computer vision annotation tool, CVAT. You'll ensure that everyone can quickly grasp and use its features.
What you will be doing:
- Working with developers, designers, and product managers to grasp product functionalities and technical specifics
- Creating, revising, and organizing various types of documentation, such as user and developer guides, API documentation, and release notes
- Researching and compiling information from different sources to ensure our documentation is accurate and comprehensive
- Regularly updating our documents to mirror any software updates, new features, and fixes
- Engaging with our open-source community to incorporate feedback, answer queries, and refine documentation based on users' needs
- Contributing to creating tutorials and educational content to maximize user experience with CVAT
- Writing technical content for various platforms like our Blog, Medium, and social networks
What we expect from you:
- A track record as a technical writer, supported by a solid portfolio of documentation projects
- Outstanding writing and editing abilities, focusing on detail and clarity
- The skill to comprehend complex technical concepts swiftly and simplify them for documentation
- Knowledge of markup languages like Markdown and reStructuredText
- Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git
- Experience using documentation tools such as Sphinx or Read the Docs
- Proficiency in English
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities, able to thrive in a remote team setting environment
It would be nice if you have:
- Experience with computer vision or machine learning technologies
- Proficiency in Python programming
- Familiarity with software development methodologies like Kanban
